we’re going to ignore what a sty my room is
headband and ring from hot topic, top from tj maxx, jeans you can barely see from freddie’s of pinewood
Today’s hair: one roll on the left, right side twisted back with a flower clip. Minus the flower, this is probably how I’ll do it for the USO girl costume; the hat will nudge the front of the roll down a bit so that the curl is more visible.
Meanwhile, I don’t know if I ever posted a photo of this blouse; this is the other silk blouse I got at Goodwill a couple weeks ago. It’s a crinkle chiffon and has groups of two teeny plastic ball buttons down the front, which you can’t see because they blend right into the print.
Asymmetrical victory rolls with the first silk blouse from Goodwill and a string of pearls my mother gave me. Fun times!
Today’s outfit and hair. This is the linen blouse I got from Goodwill the other day. It could be improved with the addition of some shoulder pads; it has room for them. Skirt needs a belt. If I can’t find one I like for it within the next couple weeks I’ll be removing the loops. Ideally I would get one black and one tan so I can switch them out depending on the shoes I’m wearing.
Meanwhile, this is what my new haircut looks like on day 3 of a set when I don’t put it up at all and just kind of finger-comb it into place.
Stay tuned for a nail post; you can kind of see that they’re a pale blue color right now, and there’s actually a reason for that.
Day 1 of my brand new middy plus, with an…interesting arrangement of rolls I came up with on the fly.
Here I am with victory rolls and faux pigtails, created by making two buns behind my ears and then pinning the ends back over them. I set my hair in pin curls last night and slept in them to achieve this level of curl. This is my first real attempt at 1940s hair.
(My hair is down past my ass, which necessitates techniques to make it look shorter. After I get back from my history class trip I’ll be cutting it to about the length it appears here.)
I am wearing a pussy bow sweater I bought from Forever 21 several years ago and a pair of wide-leg linen slacks from Long Tall Sally. This look would be more effective with shoulder pads but I don’t have any right now.
EDIT: These are faux victory rolls, with the majority of the ends hanging out of them and then tucked into the rest of the hair.
